It has been a work in progress over the past few years, but it has finally arrived!
The friars in Australia decided that it was time to seriously improve our online presence by putting together a brand new website to help promote our way of life as Conventual Franciscans and our activities throughout the Delegation.
St. Maximilian M. Kolbe encouraged the friars that as the world continues to change and new technologies become available, it is important that the Church and Our Order meet the people where they are; we may see this as ‘mission territory’. The Internet has become the main meeting place for people and a key tool for those searching for direction when discerning God’s call. By having a good online presence, the Franciscan Friars, in a sense, ‘cast out their nets into the deep’ to catch those searching for deeper meaning to their lives.
The new website will be a fantastic forum to promote vocations, prayer, events, keep people updated with news articles and pictures, and most importantly to give people a glimpse into the Franciscan way of life.
As time goes on we hope to continue to develop the website further.
